Dr. Bustamante was born in New York City and grew up in Syracuse, New York. He attended Ohio Wesleyan University, where he studied pre-medical sciences and played on the varsity lacrosse team. Bustamante later attended Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine where he graduated with a Doctor in Podiatric Medicine degree in 1997. After his time at Barry, Dr. Bustamante performed his podiatric surgical residency program at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, Florida. He went on to serve as the chief resident at Palmetto General Hospital in 2000.
Dr. Bustamante also completed a Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Fellowship at the internationally-renowned Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel in 1999 and was recognized for his participation in humanitarian work through the Yucatán Crippled Children's Project in Merida, Mexico in 1998.
In addition to his practice, Dr. Bustamante is actively training future podiatric surgeons at Westchester General and Larkin hospitals. He was recently appointed as the Director of Surgical Education for the Westchester General Hospital Podiatric Residency Program.
